Mobile Broadband Is It Safe And Secure At Home Empty

In this cut throat technological era, internet is a real need as a tool for data communication and transmission. Internet can be accessed from home by using the telephone cables. However, this type of connection comes with a lot of problems. The modem speed is extremely low (56 Kilobits per second), so, the subscriber has to wait for a long time to download files. On the contrary, broadband internet access is a system through which data can be accessed and retrieved at a high speed internet connection (256 Kilobits per second and 512 Kilobits per second).
Broadband connection can be classified into two types: first, there is home broadband, which can be accessed at the comfort of your home. The next type is mobile broadband which can be accessed from anytime, anywhere as it does not use any cables. Instead, it uses a dongle to connect to the USB port of the laptop, so that the user can browse the net while on the move. Then there is wireless broadband which wireless broadband networks to connect to the internet. But while using these broadband connections, the users tend to be a little paranoid regarding the security system. They often go panicky should they find that the dongle is lost. They come uo with questions such as how far the possibility goes for hacking the system and using the information from the hacked computer? Nevertheless, some basic information about protection of wireless networking and security can ensure a safe connection.
The wireless modem or dongle should be used carefully. The dongle is tiny, light-weighted and easy to carry. However, there is a possibility of losing it or being stolen. In any such case, the subscriber should immediately inform the internet service providers (ISPs) regarding its status and having the connection suspended or terminated. This would help to stop misuses of the dongle by others, to save the original subscriber from paying the bills for something he/ she has not used.

The wireless broadband uses a local IP address, which is unlike a fixed broadband line that uses internet IP address. The situation is somewhat alike accessing the internet from an office LAN. This local IP address is protected by a firewall that restricts an unauthorized access. As any sort of external communication is done using that local IP address, so if someone tries to hack the mobile broadband device within close proximity, the access will be denied because of a false IP address. Nonetheless, the same cannot be guaranteed for someone who wishes to do it from a distant connection.
As wireless broadband connection requires a network key to permit the access, it is necessary to enable security keys or encryption keys such as WEP/WPA password keys to lock unauthorized access. Besides, some antivirus program software or antispyware such as Norton, McAfee, etc. are installed and updated properly to remove the bugs, worms, and viruses. In all, the user should have a well-configured system armed with proper protective measures to enjoy the facilities of wireless broadband.
